Peter Casey says, “Stop the madness! Illegal migrants equal €561 per week – while OAPs equals only €266/€277 a week.”

Midlands-North-West European election candidate Peter Casey is calling again for a “no passport – no entry” policy for Ireland.

“It’s costing our taxpayers too much money. We desperately need to preserve our culture and save our children’s future,” he said.

He added, “I’m calling on the Irish government to immediately stop any illegal immigrants who attempt to enter the country without proper documentation.

“We need to protect our borders. With or without the assistance of the UK/NI governments.”

Mr Casey believes his thinking is “very much in line with the wishes of the vast majority of Irish voters.”

“A recent poll showed that a significant 74% believe Ireland is a soft touch on immigration. We need to act immediately to end this crisis,” he stated.

According to Government figures 70% of those seeking asylum in Ireland were rejected as being fraudulent.

“It’s insane that only 0.6 percent of illegal immigrants are being deported from Ireland. The illegal migrants are costing us twice what we are paying our old-age pensioners.

He continued, “Consider this: €561 per week per illegal immigrant amounts to €29,172 per year. For 100,000 illegal immigrants, that’s almost a staggering €3 billion annually. This is taxpayers’ money – our money – that could be better spent on essential services and infrastructure. Imagine what €3 billion could do for our hospitals, (almost build one!!) our roads, and our schools. This money could be used to reduce taxes, putting more money back into the pockets of hardworking Irish citizens.

“We need a zero inward migrant policy. Unless you have a job here and can demonstrate that you are going to contribute to Irish society, we do not want you. If you have a criminal record, do not even apply.”

He is now calling for the Irish army of 7,500 troops to be encamped across the 310-mile border.

“The objective of having an army is to protect our sovereignty. We need to send a clear message that illegal immigrants can’t just walk across the border,” he said.

“We should position our troops along the border for the next 60 days. With 7,500 troops, we could put four each in a tent every 300 yards, and that would cover the entire border. It would only require 1,800 tents and would send out such a strong message. They don’t have to be armed; they just need to be there.

“We need to send the world a message, we will protect our borders.”

The businessman added, “A vast majority of these bogus asylum seekers who we are giving tents to, are young men from North Africa who have nothing to contribute to our society, but our politicians seem to be afraid to highlight this point.

“We have the technology to very quickly work out who they are and where they have come from. If over 70%, according to the government’s own figures, are not entitled to asylum, they should be returned, as per the Dublin 3 Agreement, to their first port of entry into the EU. If they are entitled to asylum, then let’s give them a work visa and tell them that we need them to put their shoulder to the wheel and get a job. Plenty of farmers need workers!

“I recently visited the Grand Canal and was speaking to a couple of them in the tents there who claimed to be from Palestine – yet they could not tell me which part of Palestine they were from when I asked them that simple question!

“It is time to stop the madness. No passport, no entry. Let’s put Ireland first!”

“It’s Time To Give Back Power to Our Local Governments,” says Peter Casey

“It’s Time To Give Back Power to Our Local Governments,” says Peter Casey

Midlands-North-WestEuropean Election candidate Peter Casey has said that the only way to resolve the ongoing problems facing rural Ireland is by “reducing the powers in Leinster House and Brussels”.

He said, “We need to keep the Chief Executive of the County Council on their toes at all times to ensure they are implementing local projects as quickly and as effectively as possible.

“One solution I believe passionately in is that the Chief Executive of the County Council should report directly to the Cathaoirleach and not to the Minister for State in Local Government – and the County Council should be able to fire him if he or she is not doing a good enough job.

“I am all about trying to return power to the local government – taking it away from the European parliament. And that’s why I am saying that I want people to vote for me and other like-minded independents.

“I want to see us dilute the power of the EU, reduce the power of Dail Eireann, and give more power back to where it belongs, i.e., local government.

“And that would include abolishing An Bord Pleanala, for example, and bring the power back to the County Council in a meaningful way and give the local people the opportunity to vote on important local issues of concern in Midlands-North-West.”

The former Dragon Dens’ star added, “We need to focus on taking power away from the EU and bring it back home because restoring Ireland’s sovereignty is really at the heart of my proposal here.

“I cannot stress enough how important it is to increase the level of power at a local level. The County Council should be able to fire the Chief Executive if he is not doing what they are instructing him to carry out.

“I will give you one good example of how my proposal to radically shake things up would help improve Midlands-North-West. We have too many empty houses all around the country. The Chief Executive should be on top of that, coming up with creative and concrete solutions for the 200,000 empty homes that we have all around Ireland.  Why aren’t they doing that right now while we face a massive housing crisis?”

The successful businessman said “the problem hit home” to him while he was out on the campaign trail.

Peter Casey explained, “I’ve driven over 5,000 miles during the past two weeks and I’ve gone through all these small towns and you would not believe the huge number of derelict buildings all around Ireland.

“In the last two censuses, we have a situation where approximately 50 percent of the same properties are vacant. In other words, over half of the properties that were vacant ten years ago are still vacant today. How is that progress in any language? It is just obscene that these properties are going to waste.

“The solution is to give people a vacancy tax incentive if the property in question has been vacant for two years. If the County councils had power and the Chief Executive was doing their job to the best of their ability these problems would be already solved.

“If a property has been empty for over two years, the Council should tell the proprietor that they have six months to fix up the property or otherwise it will be seized and auctioned off and the Council will keep half the proceeds and give you the other half.

“If elected, I promise to advocate vigorously for policies that do address immediate concerns for my constituency.  I will be proposing such common sense approaches to the European parliament.

“The Midlands North West constituency needs a successful businessman and not a failed politician to represent them in Brussels. That is why I am asking for your number one vote on Friday, June 7.”

“Great Britain and Sinn Fein Are In Cahoots Over Immigration Crisis And Must Step Up To The Plate To Fix It,” says Peter Casey.

“Great Britain and Sinn Fein Are In Cahoots Over Immigration Crisis And Must Step Up To The Plate To Fix It,” says Peter Casey.

Midlands-North-West European Election candidate Peter Casey has criticised the British government for effectively using Ireland as a “dumping ground” to offload their illegal immigrants and has said Sinn Fein must take a much more proactive role in resolving this all-island crisis.

The successful businessman said, “The British government’s Rwanda policy has resulted in Ireland being invaded by illegal immigrants. They are effectively using our country as a dumping ground to wash their hands of the problem.

“Both the Sinn Fein-led government in Belfast and the Irish government must send a strong signal to their British counterparts saying, ‘that enough is enough’.

“Great Britain and Sinn Fein need to act in good faith to protect their promises as part of the Good Friday Agreement and stop bogus asylum seekers from flooding across our borders in their droves. Sinn Fein must ensure anybody arriving in Northern Ireland has the appropriate paperwork.”

The former Dragon Dens’ panelist added, “This out-of-touch Tory government must not be allowed to use Ireland as the EU’s version of Rwanda. They are rubbing our noses in it by the very fact that they have refused to meet with the Irish Minister for Justice to discuss the crisis.

“As a businessman, my solution is to close down the International Protection Office on Mount Street in Dublin and tell illegal immigrants to apply through our embassy in London. The only tents given out for free should be for our Irish soldiers to camp out along the 500 km border as a show of force to protect our borders and say to the world that Ireland will not be the soft touch of the EU.

Peter Casey fears the crisis will now escalate during the long summer months as a result of Belfast’s High Court’s decision not to deport any refugees that arrive there from England, Wales, and Scotland.

“There is going to be a Tsunami of asylum seekers in the Midlands-North-West as a result of the recent Belfast High Court decision not to deport illegal immigrants to Rwanda,” Peter Casey said

“These illegal immigrants will soon be leaving mainland Britain in large numbers to go to Northern Ireland and then head south. The illegal migrants will realize the beaches are nicer than canals – meaning the Dublin tent crisis will be in Midlands North West shortly.”

Mr. Casey, who added that he encourages foreign nationals to come into Ireland once they have legal work visas, pointed out: “The Irish government has predicted that at least 20,000 illegal immigrants will arrive here by the end of the year, but it could end up being double that if immediate action is not taken. We must put a stop to this madness.

“The Midlands North West constituency needs a successful businessman and not a failed politician to represent them in Brussels. That is why I am asking for your number one vote on Friday, June 7.”

Casey calls on the UK Government and Sinn Fein to “step up to the plate!”.

Casey calls on the UK Government and Sinn Fein to “step up to the plate!”.

“The UK could stop this crisis if they were good neighbors. Place checks on all points of departure from the UK to Ireland” says Peter Casey

Midlands-North-West European election candidate Peter Casey has warned that the ongoing crisis of undocumented crossing the Irish border from the UK is potentially the worst-ever crisis to hit our country.

“Denmark has only had 700 undocumented immigrants cross their border in the first four months of the year, but yet Ireland has endured 7,000 – all because of UK’s Rwanda policy, and the recent High Court decision in Northern Ireland,” said Peter Casey

“Our Justice Department believes that we will have a further 20,000 asylum seekers arrive on our shores by the end of the year, but that figure could end up being 30,000 or even 40,0000.

“I fear there is going to be a tsunami of asylum seekers in the Midlands-North-West as a result of the recent Belfast High Court decision not to deport illegal immigrants to Rwanda.

“These illegal immigrants will be leaving mainland Britain in large numbers to Northern Ireland and will then head south. They will soon realise the beaches are nicer than canals – meaning the Dublin tent crisis will be in the Midlands North West shortly.

“You cannot even become a football coach or be on a parent-teachers group without having a background check carried out. Background checks on anyone coming into Ireland should be a priority. If anyone has a criminal background, you are not welcome in Ireland.

“The majority of the economic migrants are from Nigeria, where women’s rights are virtually non-existent.

“Some of these economic migrants could be serious criminals. This madness has to end. Asking for criminal background checks does not make you a racist. It makes you a realist. Safety of our community should be paramount.”

The Irish businessman is now calling on Michelle O’Neill’s government to carry out extensive passport controls at Larne and all airports in Northern Ireland.

“I am calling on this Sinn Fein government to stop any illegal immigrants from entering Northern Ireland and I would also recommend that the Irish army send soldiers in tents along the border for a few weeks to send out a clear message that we will not tolerate illegal crossings.” They don’t have to do anything, just being there will send a strong message that we are serious about protecting our sovereignty.”

The Dragons’ Den panelist said that “one good thing” has come out of the controversial Rwanda policy. “It now means that those foreigners in desperate situations might be reluctant to hand over the deeds of their homes for safe passage to the UK if they now think they could end up in Rwanda, not the UK” he added.

“In a similar vein, Ireland must now show that it is not the soft touch of Europe and be prepared to deport them to Rwanda if it comes to it, too.”The only solution is for the UK and Ireland to be completely aligned with respect to migration policy.

The Irish businessman dismissed accusations from political rivals that he is anti-immigration as “scaremongering tactics”.

He concluded, “Ireland is crying out for skilled and unskilled labor. We have a shortage of skilled labor such as medical professionals and tradespeople, for example. We need people who will put their shoulder to the wheel, not economic migrants and certainly not illegal migrants.

“As a strong independent voice, I am asking for your number one vote on Friday, June 7. I will make a real difference in the immigration crisis if elected in the Midlands North West Constituency in June.”

Peter Casey Plans to Bring Out an App To Allow His Constituents To Have a Direct Say On EU Policies Affecting Midlands-North-West

Peter Casey Plans to Bring Out an App To Allow His Constituents To Have a Direct Say On EU Policies Affecting Midlands-North-West

Midlands-North-West European election candidate Peter Casey has promised to give the power back to the people who voted him in as their MEP.

He is the first candidate to propose an app that will keep constituents regularly updated on all the vital new legislation and proposals.

“And when any topic comes down to a vote I will be making my decision on how you tell me to vote on the app. It brings power right back to the people” he explained.

“I will put forward the cases for and against – and will then respect your final verdict.”

The Irish businessman explained that such a system would help to prevent farmers and fishermen from feeling they are being left out of the cold. The app will feature secure two-factor authentication and will be offered to users free of charge.

“I can appreciate that many elderly farmers might not be able to work the app system and to compensate for this I will regularly hold town hall meetings with all of them to show a sign of hands, too,” he added.

The former Dragons’ Den panelist added, “If I am elected in the upcoming election, I will be proposing such common-sense approaches to the European Parliament. “As a strong independent voice, I am asking for your number one vote on Friday, June 7. I will make a difference if elected in the Midlands North West Constituency in June.”

“British Govt. Must Stop Playing Mind Games and Get Their Own House in Order,” says Peter Casey

“British Govt. Must Stop Playing Mind Games and Get Their Own House in Order,” says Peter Casey

Midlands-North-West European election candidate Peter Casey has said both the EU authorities and the Irish government need to “start playing hardball” with the UK over the ongoing tent fiasco.

The Irish businessman wants the European Union to demand that Westminster carry out passport control checks on all flights and ferries from Scotland, England, and Wales to any port in the Republic of Ireland.

“The British establishment has become the bad neighbour since Brexit. They are not pulling their weight on the refugee crisis and should face penalties and even economic sanctions from Brussels if they don’t immediately get their act together,” he suggested.

“Meanwhile, Ireland has rolled up its sleeves and taken in many times more Ukrainians than any other European country during 2023.

“Ireland is approximately 3.5 times smaller than the UK, yet an estimated 104,000 Ukrainian refugees are living here now and only 174,000 in Great Britain. That figure does not add up.

“I am even starting to wonder if their Rwanda strategy was simply a sabre-rattling ploy to force asylum seekers out of the United Kingdom and across the open border into Ireland.

They will soon realise the beaches are nicer than canals, meaning the Dublin tent crisis will soon be in the Midlands-North-West.”

“I am not anti-immigration, I am pro-Ireland. Every country in this world needs to monitor the amount that they look out for themselves, and the amount that they help the rest of the world. I want to prioritise Ireland is taken care of and not getting taken advantage of, right now the UK and the rest of the EU are taking advantage of our generosity / lax immigration enforcement policies.”

Putting forward his practical solution to ease the crisis, Mr Casey said: “The best way to stop England from playing these cruel mind games, using desperate refugees as pawns, is to heavily penalise them and any transportation companies—be it airlines, ferries, or buses—for any illegal immigrants that they effectively smuggle into Europe via the backdoor of Ireland.

“Michael O’Leary would quickly sort out this problem within a week if he knew there would be a €150,000 fine per illegal immigrant who boarded one of his flights to Dublin.”

The former Dragons’ Den panellist added, “Meanwhile if the Irish government really wants to resolve this problem in the morning, they should close down the International Protection Office on Mount Street in Dublin and tell illegal immigrants to apply through the Irish embassy in London.

“We should also have Irish soldiers camping out on the border, as it would send a clear signal to bogus asylum seekers that Ireland is not going to be a soft touch.”

The Irish businessman dismissed accusations from political rivals that he is anti-immigration as “scaremongering tactics.”

He concluded, “Ireland is crying out for skilled labour. We have a shortage of skilled labour, such as medical professionals and tradespeople, for example. We need people who will put their shoulder to the wheel, not economic migrants and certainly not illegal migrants.

“Operation Sonnet is a complete joke,” says Peter Casey

“Operation Sonnet is a complete joke,” says Peter Casey

Midlands-North-West European election candidate Peter Casey has lambasted the fact that “only 50” illegal immigrants were detained last week at the border crossing during the Garda Síochána’s overhyped Operation Sonnet.

“There are hundreds upon hundreds of illegal immigrants crossing the border – with even the government admitting that they expected a further 20,000 of them by the end of the year. Yet Operation Sonnet was only able to stop 50 illegal immigrants last week, which speaks volumes about this inept government’s poor handling of the crisis,” Peter Casey said.

“These illegal immigrants were stopped on the main Belfast to Dublin road and turned back around – but how many decided to later take the Enterprise train to Dublin or drive across into Donegal?

“Operation Sonnet is a bad idea from a bad government who are only paying lip service to the crisis. It’s a smoke and mirrors charade.

“If the Irish government really wanted to resolve this problem in the morning, they should close down to the international protection office so that people can only apply for asylum At the Irish embassy in London

“They should also have Irish soldiers camping on the border, as it would send a clear signal out to bogus asylum seekers that Ireland is not going to be a soft touch.”

The former Dragons’ Den panellist added, “The Irish Defence Forces need to be deployed before the refugees’ crisis spirals further out of control.

They will soon realise the beaches are nicer than canals – meaning the Dublin tent crisis will be in Midlands North West shortly.”

The Irish businessman dismissed accusations from political rivals that he is against immigration. He said, “Ireland is crying out for skilled labour. We have a shortage of skilled labour such as medical professionals and tradespeople, for example. We need people who will put their shoulder to the wheel, not economic migrants and certainly not illegal migrants.

Peter Casey Calls for Irish Defence Forces to Be Used in Fight to Stop Illegal Immigrants Flooding Across the Border

Peter Casey Calls for Irish Defence Forces to Be Used in Fight to Stop Illegal Immigrants Flooding Across the Border

Midlands-North-West European election candidate Peter Casey is calling for the Irish army to be deployed to help resolve the refugee crisis before it spirals further out of control.

“A recent poll has revealed that 74% of people believe Ireland is a soft touch on immigration and they want a tougher approach. I have the perfect and most practical solution as we face an estimated 20,000 more illegal immigrants arriving here by the end of the year,” Peter Casey said.

“It is obvious that the Garda Síochána are unable to put out this fire on their own. It seems to me that the only way to send a tough message to the rest of the world that we won’t tolerate bogus asylum seekers is by deploying the army on the Irish border to prevent any illegal crossings, as is being done in other countries.”

The former Dragons’ Den panelist pointed out that the Irish Defence Forces have been called on to help the Gardaí in the fight against crime as recently as 2023.

“The Garda Síochána were assisted by the Irish Defence Forces when raiding homes and making arrests as part of an investigation into organised crime in Limerick, Clare, and Tipperary, targeting 67 properties and making several arrests in 2023,” Peter Casey said.

“It is only common sense for the Minister for Justice and Minister for Defence to work out an arrangement to protect our borders. If someone broke into your home, you would not offer them a tent and suggest they set up camp in your back garden – but that is exactly what is happening here with the ongoing tent crisis on the Grand Canal.

“The real reason we have waves of undocumented men coming into the country is because Ireland is not a sovereign state anymore. It takes its orders from Brussels.”

The Irish businessman is also calling for illegal immigrants to have their cases processed much quicker.

He explained, “It should not take months or weeks for these applications to go through the system, but rather days. People seeking asylum need to have their cases ruled on quickly and humanely, but those who are refused need to be immediately deported.”

The independent candidate now fears tents will mushroom across the entire Midlands-North-West region without immediate action.

He said, “During the summer and autumn, there is going to be a tsunami of asylum seekers in the Midlands-North-West as a result of the recent Belfast High Court decision not to deport illegal immigrants to Rwanda.

“These illegal immigrants will be leaving mainland Britain in large numbers to go to Northern Ireland and then head south. The illegal migrants will realise the beaches are nicer than canals – meaning the Dublin tent crisis will soon be in Midlands-North-West.”

In a statement addressing his proposals, Peter Casey emphasised that his decisions and demands are rooted in his desire to secure the best outcomes for the people of Ireland. He asserted, “Every stance I take, every call I make, is driven by a steadfast commitment to safeguarding the interests and well-being of the Irish people. Our nation deserves pragmatic solutions to the challenges we face, and I firmly believe that my proposals reflect this unwavering dedication to our country’s prosperity and security.”

The Irish businessman also made a point of adding that “Ireland is crying out for skilled labor.”

He concluded, “We have a shortage of skilled labor such as nurses and doctors. The more medical professionals we can attract, the more it would help ease the crisis in our health system. We need more tradesmen. Our children are leaving because they do not see a future in Ireland. We need people who will put their shoulder to the wheel.

“If I am elected in the upcoming election, I will propose such common-sense approaches to the European Parliament.

“The Midlands-North-West constituency needs a true independent voice in Brussels to ensure Ireland doesn’t remain a soft touch in this ongoing refugee crisis, which is an all-Ireland problem.

“As a strong independent voice, I am asking for your number one vote on Friday, June 7. I will make a difference if elected in the Midlands-North-West constituency in June.”

Peter Casey Calls to Abolish An Bord Pleanála and Return Decision-Making to Our Local County Councils

Peter Casey Calls to Abolish An Bord Pleanála and Return Decision-Making to Our Local County Councils

Midlands-North-West European election candidate Peter Casey has said Ireland’s national independent planning body “is only independent in name, and its excess red tape is having a detrimental impact on housing and our economy.”

The former Dragons’ Den panelist said, “An Bord Pleanála is not fit for purpose, and the appeals system needs a complete reset.

“It is beyond belief that Ireland is in the middle of a housing crisis, and somebody from Mizen Head can object to planning permission for a housing project in Malin Head for a mere €150 fee, bringing a much-needed housing project to a grinding halt for, on average, a year because An Bord Pleanála’s appeal system is backed up.

“It is almost as bad as the delays with the asylum seekers. You should only be allowed to appeal a housing project if you have a vested interest in the region.

“I speak from personal experience because I have been trying to build urgently needed homes in Donegal, which would bring much-needed jobs to the area and help young people get a foot onto the property ladder.

“But frivolous appeals have knocked the project back a year, and there is nothing to stop objectors from appealing appeals, which could set such projects back another year.

“Meanwhile, young John and Mary are still living at home with their parents or wasting dead money on rent.

“If I am elected as your MEP for Europe, I vow to go over to Brussels and rattle enough cages until enough pressure is put on the Irish government to ensure there is a common-sense approach to housing in Ireland. Otherwise, we are going to keep losing our young people who will emigrate, and it will be hard to get tradesmen to return to our shores as they leave in their droves because of all the red tape. This madness must stop.

I believe three things can be done to solve the housing crisis. The first is to abolish An Bord Pleanála, the second is to double height allowances on developments—for example, if it’s a four-story building, allow eight—and lastly, change the regulations regarding objections. You should only be able to object if you live within 5 km of the development. And you’re only allowed an objection for 12 weeks. After 12 weeks, if you file an objection and lose, you have to pay the legal costs of the developer.

He emphasised, “Our young people are leaving Ireland in droves as they feel they will never be able to buy a house or even get a job. They do not feel they have a future. We need to introduce incentives to encourage our young people to come back home to Ireland. If elected, I will work hard to ensure that incentives are put in place to help make this happen.

“As a businessman, I believe that the most important role of a Member of the European Parliament is to help bring employment into the area and to stop jobs from leaving the country. In Ireland, 80% of the corporation taxes are paid by American multinationals. We need to be passionate and active about protecting this critical source of revenue and job creation in Ireland.

“I have been instrumental in bringing large multinationals to Ireland, and if elected to represent you, I will work hard to make sure that the large multinational employers in the area know that they are welcome in Ireland and that they can rely on me to help them further expand their Irish-based businesses into Europe. Attracting more jobs and preventing jobs from leaving rural Ireland will be my mission if elected.

“As a strong independent voice, I do not have to follow political party lines. I am encouraging people to vote Independent and to vote Peter Casey No. 1. I will make a difference if elected in the Midlands North West Constituency in June.”

Peter Casey Lambasts RTE’s Shambolic Upfront European Election Debate and Its Failure to Address the Real Issues Facing Rural Ireland

Peter Casey Lambasts RTE’s Shambolic Upfront European Election Debate and Its Failure to Address the Real Issues Facing Rural Ireland

Midlands-North-West European election candidate Peter Casey has heavily criticized last night’s political debate on RTE’s Upfront show as a “heated and chaotic discussion that failed to properly address the most pressing issues facing rural Ireland today”.

“The former Dragons’ Den panelist also expressed his disappointment in independent candidate Saoirse McHugh for resorting to ‘childish behavior’. He added, “Ming Flanagan was, as usual, obnoxious and insulting, constantly interrupting and talking over everyone. Katie Hannon lost control of the debate.”

Casey found it amusing to watch the two Greens struggle to explain what they could offer Ireland. He said, “At least the official Green Party candidate seemed to know why she was standing! McHugh, on the other hand, could not explain why she was standing and what she would contribute if elected.”

“Regarding the live debate itself, Casey stated, ‘The show was a failure and a waste of time because it did not focus on the two most pressing issues concerning the people in Midlands North West: job creation in rural Ireland and the immigration crisis.’”

“RTE made a mistake by having eight candidates on the show and attempting to discuss almost half a dozen topics, only giving each candidate six minutes. Under such conditions, it is impossible to have a meaningful debate.

“The show should have focused on the immediate concerns closer to home and not the genocide in the Middle East. While it is a tragedy, the people in rural Ireland are not directly impacted by the bloodshed in Palestine – as terrible and tragic as it is, it does not keep them awake at night.

“What keeps them awake at night is the thought that there won’t be a job in their own community for their child when they graduate from school and university.

“Why wasn’t job creation in Midlands North West the number one subject of the night? How do we attract 5,000 tradesmen to rebuild 10,000 Mica homes? How do we attract the right qualified people to Ireland? How do we stop illegal migrants from coming into Ireland? How would they address the tent crisis, which is in Dublin but will be in Midlands North West shortly? The illegal migrants will realise the beaches are nicer than canals.”

Casey also pointed out that 80% of corporation taxes are paid by American multinationals, who can easily leave due to changes in the US tax code. He questioned why the asylum seekers crisis was not taken more seriously on the show. He added, “While illegal immigration may not be the biggest concern for rural Ireland at the moment, there is going to be a tsunami of asylum seekers in the Midlands-North-West as a result of the recent Belfast High Court decision not to deport illegal immigrants to Rwanda. These illegal immigrants will be leaving mainland Britain in large numbers to go to Northern Ireland and then head south.

“Yes, one or two important issues like soil erosion were mentioned, but overall, it was a sideshow with some of the candidates only interested in wasting time on one-upmanship nonsense.”

Casey has already facilitated companies opening in rural Ireland and believes that bringing jobs to Midlands-North-West is more important than discussing soil erosion.

He emphasised, “Our children are leaving Ireland in droves as they feel they will never be able to buy a house or even get a job. They do not feel they have a future. We need to introduce incentives to encourage our young people to come back home to Ireland. If elected, I will work hard to ensure that incentives are put in place to help make this happen.
