Peter Casey is an Irish entrepreneur who built successful businesses on three continents.

He is the Executive Chairman of global executive search company, Claddagh Resources, working with the company’s most senior clients and providing strategic direction for the business he founded in 1993, which has offices in Ireland and in the U.S.A.

Peter Casey was invited by Irish national broadcaster, RTÉ, to become a Dragons Den investor, adjudicating business pitches and backing start-ups for three seasons of the popular TV show, between 2012 and 2014.

Motivated to work for the people of Donegal and Ireland, in recent years Peter Casey entered the Irish political arena, keen to bring his world experience and business acumen to national and local social and economic affairs.

In 2018, he stood as a candidate in the Irish Presidential election, coming in a very strong second to the incumbent, with 23.3% of the vote.  His 342,727 first preference votes totalled more than the combined vote of the four remaining candidates.

Peter Casey was born in Derry in 1957 and is one of nine children.  Married to Helen, the father of five grown-up children has homes in Greencastle in County Donegal and in Atlanta, Georgia.

A business and politics graduate from Aston University in Birmingham, Peter Casey is recognised as one of Aston’s 50 Most Influential Alumni, and has been honoured as a leading Irish-American businessman by Irish-American Magazine.

In the late 1990s, Peter Casey was invited to participate in the White House Good Friday Peace Talks.
